Once this is complete, students may follow the steps for tuition assistance and meet with the CCC Base Representative for enrollment.

Tuition Assistance

Applying for TA

1. Meet with your Educational Service Officer or counselor within your military branch. Regardless if you are working on your CCAF or another degree, if you have never received Tuition Assistance (TA), you will need to complete a briefing through the Education Office before submitting a TA request. ESOs at CAFB can be reached at 575-784-4184.

2. Submit a TA request by logging into your respective branch's education portal. TA Funding Requests must be approved by supervisors and fall within the TA application window. Tuition Assistance must be applied for no earlier than 45 days and no later than 7 days before classes start. Students who are using Tuition Assistance should submit their signed and approved Tuition Assistance form to taforms@clovis.edu by the published payment deadline to avoid being dropped for nonpayment. Students should call the Business Office to address any charges not covered by Tuition Assistance.

3. We recommend that you register for classes as soon as possible after you obtain TA approval. You may register with the CAFB Admissions Representative, on-campus, or online through your Pathway account.

TA Refund Policy

Clovis Community College returns unearned military tuition assistance on a proportional basis through at least the 60% portion of the term for which they were provided regardless of the reason for withdrawal (service-related or otherwise).  Any unearned TA funds will be returned directly to the military service, not to the service member.

CCC will work with the service members that stop attending due to a military service obligation in identifying solutions that will not result in student debt for the returned portion.

Military tuition assistance is awarded based on students completing the entire term it was awarded.  When a student withdraws, they may no longer be eligible for the full amount.

Tuition Assistance eligibility will be recalculated for students who officially withdraw from the course prior to completing 60% of the enrollment period.  Recalculation of eligibility is based on the percentage of TA benefits earned using the following formula:

Number of days completed/Number of days in term = percent earned

CCC will return any unearned TA funds, and the student will owe CCC the amount that was returned.

Based on the published academic calendar, students receive a 100% refund if they drop/withdraw from a Spring class by  the following dates:

  • 16 Week Term - January 30, 2024
  • 1st 8 Week Term - January 22, 2024
  • 2nd 8 Week Term - March 15, 2024

Military Tuition Rate

Active duty military (stationed in New Mexico), New Mexico National Guard, and their spouses and dependents are eligible to apply for CCC's in-state, in-district tuition rate. To qualify for the lowest tuition rate at CCC, print and complete the Application for Waiver of Non-Resident Tuition and return it either in person to the base representative or the Admissions and Records Office, or via fax or email.

General Education Mobile (GEM)

GEM is a program that enables you, as an active duty military student, to sign up for your general education requirements as a single block of courses from the same college, providing greater educational continuity and faster completion of military Associates degrees. Learn more about GEM here.
