 Intro

Welcome to Clovis Community College and my classes!

Someone once stated, “Change how you see, not how you look.” This quote supports my thoughts on education being a very important part of life; the more we are exposed to new knowledge and experiences, so grows our awareness as well as our ability to reflect and draw connections. We become empowered and learn that we are connected to everyone and everything on this beautiful planet Earth, thus reminding us how carefully and gratefully we have to treat each other and this world with its nature and animals.

How does English fit in this equation? Well, for many of you, this is your native tongue, this is a part of who you are. For others, it is their 2nd language, and they made it a part of their identity. As Wittgenstein once said,” the limit of my language is the limit of my world,” which means that a limited knowledge of language also limits the experiences in life. Therefore, as broader your vocabulary and ability to express your thoughts and emotions are, the more empowered you will be and you will understand and experience life on a different, more enhanced level.

With this said, I try to make learning fun and hands-on, so it will be a positive experience for your educational and life’s path. I look forward to having you in my classes! =)
