Automotive Technology students at Clovis Community College are learning the ins and outs of a newly donated car, thanks to a collaboration with Bender GM World dealership.
On July 17, 2020, the Clovis Community College Automotive Technology Program accepted a 2018 model Chevrolet Camaro Hot Wheels Edition donation from Steve Moscato, Bender GM World Manager, and Elma Agic, GM District Manager Aftersales.
According to Paul Blair, automotive instructor at CCC, “the addition of this new Camaro allows for new training opportunities for our students.” He continued, “the donation will help students have a better understanding and knowledge on the electrical diagnostics, parts maintenance, air conditioning, suspension, and transmission on a newer model vehicle.” When students complete their automotive program at CCC, they will enter the workforce well equipped with the knowledge and skill set that is sought after in today’s automotive industry.
Elma Agic noted, “A lot of technicians are going to be retiring, and the workforce is aging. We realize how important it is to work with the colleges that train our potential new employees. This partnership will help ensure that future technicians have the skills required in the auto service industry.”
Clovis Community College’s Automotive Technology Program provides instruction and practical application in all eight areas of Automobile Service Excellence (ASE) training. The program meets the quality training of automotive technicians, at the master level, as set by the National Automotive Technician Education Foundation (NATEF).
