Board of Trustees Announces CCC’s Next President
The Board of Trustees is pleased to announce Dr. Jonathan Fuentes as the sixth President of Clovis Community College. He is expected to assume the role on July 1, 2024. The Board welcomes Dr. Fuentes’ leadership as this next chapter of Clovis Community College’s history begins.
“On behalf of the Board of Trustees, we are excited to have Dr. Jonathan Fuentes become the sixth President of Clovis Community College. We unanimously agree that he is the enthusiastic, friendly, visionary that will build on our strengths and serve us well as we transition into the future,” said Board of Trustees Chair, Lora Harlan. “Dr. Fuentes is already committed to our Vision and Mission. He is ready to strengthen and grow the service to our students, faculty, and staff. I believe he is ready to take the helm at CCC and become an integral part of our greater Clovis Community.”
Jonathan Fuentes, Ph.D., is the current Vice President of Academic Partnerships at Odessa College, in Odessa, Texas. Dr. Fuentes previously served as the Assistant Superintendent of Business and Support Services with additional service as Interim Superintendent at Pecos-Barstow-Toyah Independent School District, in Pecos, Texas. Dr. Fuentes earned a Doctor of Philosophy of Political Science with specializations in American Government, Public Policy and Administration, Comparative Government, and Education Policy from the University of Michigan, a Master of Arts in Political Science from the University of Michigan, and a Bachelor of Arts in Government from Harvard University.
"I am honored to be selected as the next President of Clovis Community College. After my visit to the college and the community, I immediately realized how special the places and people were and how I wanted to be a part of them,” said Dr. Fuentes. “I look forward to working with everyone to build on the many strengths and to capitalize on the great opportunities in front of the college and community. My wife, children, and I are excited to live and serve alongside you."
The Board would like to extend its appreciation to the entire College community for participating in the presidential forums. All feedback was reviewed and greatly valued by the Board. This collaborative and concerted work truly enriched the search process. The Board would also like to express appreciation to the Presidential Search Committee for their time, dedication, and thoughtful work on behalf of the College.
