In 2015, Clovis Community College was awarded a $2,623,624 Title V Developing Hispanic-Serving Institutions Grant from the United States Department of Education. The five year grant began on October 1, 2015. The purpose of the Title V grant program is to provide grants to assist Hispanic-Serving Institutions to expand educational opportunities for, and improve the attainment of, Hispanic students. These grants also enable Hispanic-Serving Institutions to expand and enhance their academic offerings, program quality, and institutional stability.
Clovis Community College designed the Title V project, "Accelerating Progress for High-Need Hispanic and Low-Income Students," to address the needs of Hispanic and disadvantaged students. With innovative teaching strategies in both face-to-face and online classroom settings, the Title V grant aims to increase student success, retention and graduation rates.
