Fly-Tying Training

Join us this Spring for our next series in fly-fishing, fly tying. In this course we will explore tying streamers for pike, bass, trout, and other gamefish species. New and experienced tyers are welcome to enroll, as we will be practicing basic and advanced techniques in tying.

In this part of the fly-fishing series students will learn to tie a variety of streamers that imitate baitfish, crawfish, sculpins, and leeches. Student will gain knowledge on how to tie bucktails, weighed streamers, articulated streamers, popping/diving streamers, dubbing techniques, building brushes, hollow tying, stacking deer hair, working with bucktail, UV glues building collars, and blending materials and many more techniques.

Materials will be furnished for the flies tied in class, but tyers w need to bring their own tools or purchase tools necessary for the course under the direction of the instructor.

 

  • Class will have 8 sessions, beginning on February 4, 2025 – April 1, 2025 (No Meeting on Tuesday March 18, 2025, because of spring break) from 6:30pm – 9:30pm in Room #101 (main campus).
