The Praxis Academic Skills for Educators (Core) Assessments and the Praxis Subject Assessment tests are available for New Mexico's teaching licensure and certification.
A valid government-issued photo ID (ID requirements) is required to take the test. When you create your account and register for your test,
it’s important to make sure the name you use exactly matches the name on the primary ID you plan to present on test day. If the name shown on your primary ID doesn’t match your registration record, you
will not be permitted to test and will forfeit your test fees.
The Praxis Assessment is offered on Tuesday and Thursday at 9:30 AM. When scheduling
an exam (9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.), select the STN20400A location.
Registration and Scheduling the Praxis Assessments
How will I get my scores?
Your official score report will be posted in your Praxis account on the score reporting date, and you’ll receive an email letting you know it’s available. If you don’t already have an account, you’ll need to create one to access your scores.
Your scores will also be sent to the institutions or agencies you selected during the registration process (up to four at no additional cost) and to the state you tested in if it’s an automatic score reporting state.
Online scores reported on or after July 21, 2017, are downloadable for 10 years from the score reporting date. After 10 years, your score report will no longer be available. We recommend saving a copy for future reference.
To obtain an official score report for scores reported within the last 10 years, but before July 21, 2017, you’ll need to order an additional score report. See Sending Your Scores.
If you have a documented disability (physical, learning or cognitive) and you feel you need extra time for testing, you may submit a request for alternative testing arrangements when you register for the Praxis Core Exam.
Disability Accommodations and Extra Time
If you feel you did not perform to your potential, you may retake a Praxis test once every 35 days, not including your initial test date. Note: If you take a test that is comprised of subtests, such as Elementary Education: Multiple Subjects (5001), Pennsylvania Grades 4–8 Core Assessment (5152), or Elementary Education: Content Knowledge for Teaching (7801), you cannot retake a subtest until after the 35-day period.
This applies even if you canceled your scores on a test taken previously. If you violate this restriction, the scores from your retest will be canceled by ETS and your test fees will not be refunded.
